❓ Q&A
Here are the questions answered during the AMA.
BIND / Check-in
Q: If there are daily or monthly BIND limits, won’t that reduce the attractiveness of partner stores? A: BIND limits are an intentional part of our game design to manage token inflation and ensure long-term sustainability. To balance this, partner stores will offer exclusive experiences and campaigns, minimizing any negative impact on their appeal.
Q: Can the check-in limit (4 times per day) be increased? A: We understand that users would like more check-in opportunities. However, increasing the limit from 4 to 5–6 times per day would raise the token inflation rate by approximately 20%. For this reason, we currently have no plans to change the limit.
Q: Can the check-in recovery time (12-hour cooldown) be changed? A: The 12-hour cooldown is designed to balance user engagement with inflation control. While we understand the desire for shorter recovery times, there are currently no plans to adjust this cooldown period.
Q: Is the amount of Econ required to recover check-ins fixed? A: Yes, the required amount is currently fixed.
Q: If a payment crosses midnight (e.g., check-in at 11:58 PM and payment at 12:01 AM), can it still be BINDed? A: No. Since the check-in and payment timestamps fall on different days, the payment cannot be BINDed. We recommend users complete both actions within the same calendar day to avoid this issue.
Q: If the conditions for EVT Excavation are not met, will the rewards be applied later? A: This may depend on the cause. Please contact us through a support ticket so we can investigate and assist you accordingly.
Q: What should I do if a new store doesn’t appear as a check-in target? A: Store information in SyFu is based on Google Maps data. Newly opened stores may take some time to appear if they haven't been fully updated in the Google Maps API. Also, the SyFu app limits the search to nearby locations, distant stores may not show up. Only stores displayed on the SyFu map are valid for check-ins, so please ensure the store appears there before attempting to check in.
Payment Data
Q: When using Merucard at a gas station, the transaction date shifts and I can’t BIND. Why? A: If the transaction date differs from the check-in date, the data cannot be BINDed. This issue is caused by how Merucard processes payments at certain locations, such as gas stations. Unfortunately, this behavior is outside of SyFu’s control, and there are no plans to change this mechanism.
Q: Why are family cards not allowed? Can I use a primary card together with family cards, or use only a family card? A: Only cards registered under the user’s own name are eligible for use. Family cards and business cards are not supported. This restriction is in place to avoid complex ownership and usage scenarios, ensuring a fair and consistent user experience.
Q: When I link a primary card, transactions from family cards also appear. Can I BIND those too? A: No. Only transactions made with the primary card (registered under your own name) are eligible for BIND. Transactions from family cards cannot be used, even if they appear in the data.
Q: What happens to transactions made before switching cards? A: Transactions made up to the date of the card switch will be imported. However, if the previous card was deleted from Money Forward, those past transactions will no longer be available and cannot be imported. Money Forward is used for Japanese banks only, for those other banks in different countries have different procedures.
Q: Unintended card transactions are being imported. What causes this? A: This occurs due to the current specifications of the external API. We are actively reviewing whether it’s possible to limit imports to only the selected card to improve accuracy and user control.
Q: Will the timing of payment data imports be published? A: No, we do not plan to publish exact schedules due to potential changes in API specifications. However, to ensure a smooth user experience, we guarantee that payment data will be imported at least once per day.
Wallet & Security
Q: Spending requires BNB, Can I use Econ instead? A: Currently, BNB is required for all spending, including marketplace transactions and gas fees. While we may consider supporting Econ or EVT in the future, only BNB is supported at this time.
Q: How do you protect against account takeover? A: We use a “2-of-3 authentication” system, requiring any two of the following: email, SMS, Google Authenticator, or passkey. Additionally, biometric authentication is required for all external transfers, adding an extra layer of security.
Q: Does backing up the wallet’s private key contradict the non-custodial design? A: No. The SyFu Wallet uses MPC (Multi-Party Computation), which splits the private key into separate parts, no one, including SyFu, holds the complete key. Day-to-day operations are protected by 2-of-3 authentication. The private key backup is optional and only provided as a recovery tool, not required for regular use. This ensures strong non-custodial security while maintaining a smooth user experience.
Q: If I lose my passkey, what are the alternatives? A: Don’t worry, if you lose your passkey, you can still recover your account using email and SMS authentication or 2FA with Google Authenticator. We're also continuously working to improve the recovery process to make it even clearer and more secure.
Q: The separation of BNB and NFTs in the wallet display is confusing. Also, can I transfer NFTs in bulk to the in-game wallet? A: Thank you for the feedback, we’ll take it into consideration as we continue improving the wallet UI. A bulk NFT transfer feature is already planned and will be implemented in a future update.
NFT
Q: What happens to an Excavation Right NFT if the store it’s linked to closes or relocates? A: Excavation Right NFTs are tied to specific store locations. If a store closes or relocates, the rights will no longer remain associated with that store. This ensures that NFTs are only linked to active, usable locations.
Q: Will there be additional incentives for Excavation Right NFTs or First NFTs? A: Details on additional incentives have not been published yet. Please refer to the GitBook for the most up-to-date information. Any official updates or decisions will be announced through the GitBook and other official channels once finalized.
Q: Will additional utility be added to Uncommon OG? A: At this time, all available information has already been published, and no additional utilities have been decided. However, the OG series represents early community supporters and holds special status, so they may receive preferential treatment in future initiatives or collaborations.
Earn / Tokens
Q: Will the Earn Rate calculation be displayed? A: Yes. The Earn Rate formula will be added to both the app and the GitBook soon.
Here’s how the calculation works:
🔹 EVT Mode BIND amount × Earn Rate = Base Value Base Value × 10 = Econ awarded
🔹 Econ Mode BIND amount × Earn Rate = Base Value Base Value × 100 = EVT awarded
Other Features & Operations
Q: What is the procedure for changing devices? A: Detailed instructions will be provided soon on the GitBook and through official announcements. Please stay tuned for updates.
Q: Can you share more details about genealogy (breeding)? A: Breeding and genealogy are core parts of the ecosystem. While full details have not yet been published, the GitBook includes the currently available information. We plan to release more updates gradually, so please keep an eye on the GitBook and official channels for the latest announcements.
Fraud & Risk
Q: How do you handle fraud such as GPS spoofing? A: SyFu takes fraud prevention very seriously. If GPS spoofing or fraudulent BIND activity is detected, it is automatically flagged for investigation. Penalties may include forfeiting rewards, account suspension, or permanent bans. Our systems are designed to make cheating unrewarding and to maintain a fair environment for all users.
Q: What about credit card cashing schemes or fraudulent point acquisition? A: These actions may violate credit card issuer terms and can be considered fraud, potentially resulting in contract termination, full balance repayment demands, or legal consequences. Within SyFu, any detected fraudulent activity will lead to forfeiture of rewards, account suspension or permanent bans, and may include claims for damages where appropriate.
