# 9.5 Bloodline and Lineage

### Bloodlines create the strategic depth of Breed

Breed is a feature that combines two MANEKINEKO to create the next generation of MANEKINEKO.

One of the important elements in this system is the MANEKINEKO bloodline.

In SyFu, this is called Lineage in English.\
In the English version, this page mainly uses the term bloodline.

A bloodline shows which system a MANEKINEKO is connected to.

In Breed, it is important to decide which bloodline to carry forward and which bloodlines to combine.

In other words, a bloodline is not just a name or category.

Which bloodline should be carried into the next generation?\
Which bloodlines should be combined?\
Which MANEKINEKO should be placed on Left?

These choices create the strategic depth of Breed.

### Breed is a game of aiming for better results

The fun of Breed comes from thinking through bloodlines while aiming for better results.

Here, better results mainly refer to P-rank and rarity outcomes.

In Season 1 Uncommon x Uncommon Breed, the result is not designed to fall to a lower rarity.

On top of that, users can think through bloodlines and combinations while challenging for higher P-ranks and higher rarity possibilities.

| What to think about in Breed | Description |
| --------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Which bloodline to keep | Think about the bloodline you want to carry into the next generation. |
| Which bloodlines to combine | Think about combinations that become the basis for Nicks and Inbreeding. |
| Which MANEKINEKO to place on Left | Think about the child's bloodline base. |
| Which possibility to challenge | Think about P-rank and rarity possibilities. |

Breed is not complete after a single lottery result.

It is a game of designing bloodlines across generations.

### Pedigree shows bloodlines

On the NFT detail screen, you can check the MANEKINEKO's Pedigree.

The Pedigree displays the bloodline lines inherited by that MANEKINEKO, using 1G / 2G / 3G / 4G.

| Element | What it shows |
| ---------- | ----------------------------------------------- |
| Pedigree | Bloodline lines inherited by the MANEKINEKO |
| Nicks | Compatibility between bloodlines |
| Inbreeding | Whether the same MANEKINEKO individual overlaps |

How to read the Pedigree and how Nicks and Inbreeding occur are explained on [the next page](/breed/left-right-and-pedigree.md).

### What bloodlines affect

Bloodlines relate to Nicks, Inbreeding, and other Breed judgments.

Changes from bloodline strategy mainly relate to Breed results such as P-rank and rarity.

Bloodlines do not directly increase the basic parameters of a MANEKINEKO.

### Bloodlines are divided into four groups

The bloodlines used in Season 1 are organized into four groups.

| Group | Name |
| ----- | ------ |
| Z | Zenith |
| L | Luna |
| V | Vega |
| N | Nebula |

These four groups are important for understanding Nicks.

Nicks look at compatibility between bloodlines.

To make that compatibility easier to understand, bloodlines are organized into the four groups Z / L / V / N.

The detailed Nicks mechanism is explained later in [Nicks](/breed/nicks-and-lineage-compatibility.md).

### Bloodlines used in Season 1

The bloodlines used in Season 1 are as follows.

| Group | Bloodlines |
| ---------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Z / Zenith | Genesis / Chronos / Nexus / Logos / Vector / Aura / Apex / Equinox |
| L / Luna | Cobalt / Titanium / Nickel / Palladium / Rhodium / Iridium / Osmium / Chrome |
| V / Vega | Jasper / Onyx / Zircon / Spinel / Garnet / Topaz / Beryl / Citrine |
| N / Nebula | Basalt / Granite / Slate / Shale / Gneiss / Marble / Obsidian / Andesite |

These are the bloodline groups used in Season 1.

However, not all bloodlines exist in the same form from the beginning.

In SyFu Breed, new bloodlines can manifest through Breed starting from OG MANEKINEKO.

***

### OG is the founder-class source that manifests new bloodlines

OG does not belong to a standard bloodline group.

OG is treated less as a MANEKINEKO that inherits an existing bloodline and more as a founder-class source that manifests new bloodlines.

In Season 1, an important point is that bloodlines other than Genesis manifest through Breed starting from OG MANEKINEKO.

In other words, OG is not simply an older MANEKINEKO.

In SyFu's bloodline design, OG is the starting point for creating new bloodlines.

The detailed treatment of OG is explained later in [OG / Origin / Genesis](/breed/og-origin-genesis.md).

***

### Genesis bloodline

Genesis bloodline is a special bloodline in SyFu.

Origin is treated as a special MANEKINEKO with this Genesis bloodline.

Genesis bloodline belongs to the Z / Zenith group, while also holding a special position connected to the beginning of SyFu.

The detailed treatment of Genesis bloodline and Origin is explained later in [OG / Origin / Genesis](/breed/og-origin-genesis.md).

### Understanding bloodlines changes how Breed is viewed

When you understand bloodlines, Breed becomes more than a single-result lottery. It becomes a game of thinking about how to connect the next generation.

Which bloodline should be kept?\
Which bloodlines should be combined?\
Which MANEKINEKO should be placed on Left?

These become major points in Breed strategy.

| Perspective | Description |
| ----------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------- |
| One Breed attempt | Look at the current result. |
| Breed with bloodline planning | Think about the next generation and future combinations. |
| Breed using OG | Think about the manifestation of new bloodlines. |
| Breed with Nicks in mind | Include compatible bloodlines. |
| Breed with Inbreeding in mind | Check how the same MANEKINEKO individual overlaps. |

Breed is a game of carrying MANEKINEKO you have raised into the next generation.

Bloodlines are the blueprint for thinking about how to connect those generations.

### Summary

A bloodline shows which system a MANEKINEKO is connected to.

In Breed, which MANEKINEKO is placed on Left and which bloodline is carried into the next generation are important.

Bloodline combinations relate to Breed judgments such as Nicks and Inbreeding, and they are important factors when thinking about P-rank and rarity possibilities.

In Season 1 Uncommon x Uncommon Breed, the result is not designed to fall to a lower rarity.

On top of that, understanding bloodlines allows Breed to be enjoyed not only as a single lottery result, but also as a strategy for connecting the next generation.

OG is a founder-class source that manifests new bloodlines.

Genesis bloodline is a special bloodline connected to the beginning of SyFu.

The next page explains [Left / Right roles and how to read the Pedigree](/breed/left-right-and-pedigree.md).
