# 9.9 Inbreeding and Combined Judgment

This page explains Inbreeding in Breed and its combined judgment with Nicks.

Inbreeding is a mechanism that checks whether the same MANEKINEKO individual overlaps within the Pedigree.\
Nicks are a judgment of compatibility between bloodlines.

These two are separate judgments, but the treatment of Nicks effects can change depending on the Inbreeding state.

***

#### What is Inbreeding?

Inbreeding refers to a state where the same MANEKINEKO individual overlaps among the MANEKINEKO used for Breed or within their Pedigrees.

The system does not check only the bloodline name.

Even if the bloodline name is the same, entries with different individual identifier codes, or tokenIds, are treated as different individuals.

| What is checked | Treatment in Inbreeding |
| -------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Bloodline group | Not a direct judgment target |
| Bloodline name | Reference information |
| Individual identifier code, or tokenId | The central information used to check whether it is the same individual |

For example, even if two entries have the same Cobalt bloodline, they do not count as Inbreeding if their individual identifier codes are different.

Inbreeding checks whether the same MANEKINEKO individual overlaps.

#### Scope checked for Inbreeding judgment

Inbreeding judgment checks the Left / Right used for Breed and the individuals shown in each Pedigree.

| Target | Treatment |
| -------------------------------------------- | --------------------- |
| Left individual | Judgment target |
| Right individual | Judgment target |
| Left Pedigree | Judgment target |
| Right Pedigree | Judgment target |
| Deeper generations not shown in the Pedigree | Not a judgment target |

As explained in 9.6, the Pedigree displays up to 4 generations, or 4G.

Inbreeding judgment also checks whether the same individual overlaps based on the displayed Pedigrees and the parent individuals used for Breed.

#### Inbreeding rank

The Inbreeding rank changes depending on where the same individual overlaps by generation position.

| Rank | Main combinations |
| --------- | ------------------------------------------------- |
| Stable | 4G × 4G |
| Golden | 3G × 4G / 4G × 3G |
| Danger | 3G × 3G / 2G × 4G / 4G × 2G |
| Forbidden | 2G × 2G / 2G × 3G / 3G × 2G / 1G × any generation |

The smaller the number, the closer the generation is to the current MANEKINEKO.

The closer the same individual overlaps, the stronger the Inbreeding effect becomes.

#### Main Inbreeding

In a single Breed attempt, multiple Inbreeding candidates may be detected.

In that case, the effects of all Inbreeding candidates are not added together. Instead, one Inbreeding instance is selected as the basis for effects according to specification priority.

This selected Inbreeding instance is called Main Inbreeding here.

Main Inbreeding is determined using the following priority order.

1. Inbreeding rank: Forbidden / Danger / Golden / Stable, in that order
2. Inbreeding that occurs in a closer generation
3. Inbreeding where the duplicated individual identifier code, or tokenId, belongs to an Origin / Elite individual
4. If multiple Inbreeding candidates have the same conditions, one Main Inbreeding is determined according to a predefined judgment order so that the result does not vary by Breed attempt.

Inbreeding effects that influence the Breed result are judged based on Main Inbreeding.

Other Inbreeding candidates may be referenced for display or records, but Main Inbreeding is the primary basis for lottery effects.

#### Treatment of Stable / Golden

Stable / Golden are Inbreeding states where the same individual overlaps in relatively distant generations.

In Season 1, the treatment differs depending on whether the overlapping individual is a standard individual or an Origin / Elite individual.

| Inbreeding | Main treatment in Season 1 |
| ------------------------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Stable / Golden with a standard individual | P-rank lottery effects from Nicks count remain valid. However, Stable / Golden itself for a standard individual does not create additional P-rank upside or a Rare P0 lottery. |
| Stable / Golden with Origin | Treated as Origin Good Inbreeding and becomes eligible for the P-rank lottery and Rare P0 lottery. |
| Stable / Golden with Elite | Treated as Elite Good Inbreeding and becomes eligible for the P-rank lottery and Rare P0 lottery. |

For Stable / Golden with a standard individual, Nicks effects are not invalidated.

Therefore, P-rank lottery upside from the number of effective Nicks remains relevant as usual.

On the other hand, when an Origin / Elite individual overlaps as Main Inbreeding in Stable / Golden, it is treated as Origin / Elite Good Inbreeding.

This is a special Inbreeding element related to the P-rank lottery and Rare P0 lottery.

In Breed that includes Rare, Rare P0 is born only if the Rare P0 lottery is won.

If the Rare P0 lottery is not won, an additional Rare P0 lottery does not occur because of Origin / Elite Good Inbreeding.

The treatment of Rare-related Breed is explained in [9.10 Breeding Result Determination and Review Process](/breed/lineage-strategy-and-result-expectations.md).

#### Treatment of Danger / Forbidden

Danger / Forbidden are Inbreeding states where the same individual overlaps in closer generations.

When Inbreeding falls under Danger / Forbidden, Nicks effects do not apply to that Breed attempt.

Genesis premium also does not apply.

| Inbreeding | Nicks effect | Main treatment |
| --------------------------------------------- | ------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Danger / Forbidden with a standard individual | Invalid | Nicks effects are invalid. For standard individuals, no special determination for Rare P0 or P4 occurs. |
| Danger / Forbidden with Origin | Invalid | Becomes subject to a special determination for Rare P0 or P4 at a very low probability. |
| Danger / Forbidden with Elite | Invalid | Becomes subject to a special determination for Rare P0 or P4 at a very low probability. |

When an Origin / Elite individual overlaps as Main Inbreeding in Danger / Forbidden, a special determination for Rare P0 or P4 is made at a very low probability.

If the special P4 lottery is not won, no P4 upside occurs from the Danger / Forbidden special determination, and the P-rank determination without Nicks effects is applied.

Falling under Danger / Forbidden does not mean that the Breed itself is treated as a failure.

#### OG and Inbreeding

OG is an important MANEKINEKO as an entry point for generating new bloodlines.

However, on the Inbreeding side, OG does not have a special correction like Origin / Elite.

If an OG individual overlaps as the same individual, it is treated as standard Inbreeding.

The bloodline treatment of OG is explained in [9.7 OG / Origin / Genesis](/breed/og-origin-genesis.md).

#### Combined judgment of Nicks and Inbreeding

Nicks and Inbreeding may both be involved in the same Breed attempt.

The basic organization is as follows.

| State | Nicks effect | Main Inbreeding treatment |
| --------------------------------------------- | ------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| No Inbreeding | Valid | Relates to the P-rank lottery based on the number of Nicks. |
| Stable / Golden with a standard individual | Valid | P-rank lottery effects from Nicks count remain valid. However, Stable / Golden itself for a standard individual does not create additional P-rank upside or a Rare P0 lottery. |
| Stable / Golden with Origin / Elite | Valid | Treated as Good Inbreeding and becomes eligible for the P-rank lottery and Rare P0 lottery. |
| Danger / Forbidden with a standard individual | Invalid | Judged without Nicks effects. |
| Danger / Forbidden with Origin / Elite | Invalid | Becomes subject to a special determination for Rare P0 or P4 at a very low probability. |

In Stable / Golden, Nicks effects remain valid.

In Danger / Forbidden, Nicks effects do not apply.

Therefore, when checking Inbreeding, first check which rank the Main Inbreeding falls under.

#### Summary

Inbreeding is a mechanism that checks whether the same MANEKINEKO individual overlaps.

It checks whether the individual identifier code, or tokenId, is the same, not whether the bloodline name is the same.

When multiple Inbreeding candidates exist, one Main Inbreeding is determined according to specification priority.

In Stable / Golden, Nicks effects remain valid.

Stable / Golden involving an Origin / Elite individual is treated as Good Inbreeding and becomes eligible for the P-rank lottery and Rare P0 lottery.

In Danger / Forbidden, Nicks effects and Genesis premium do not apply.

For Danger / Forbidden involving an Origin / Elite individual, a special determination for Rare P0 or P4 is made at a very low probability.

The next page, [9.10 Breeding Result Determination and Review Process](/breed/lineage-strategy-and-result-expectations.md), explains how to review individual Breed results, including Rare P0, Elite, P-rank, and Pedigree inheritance.
